Google to Light 6th Undersea Cable in Which It has Ownership Interest

Google is working with Facebook, Pacific Light Data Communication and TE Subcom to build the first direct submarine cable system between Los Angeles and Hong Kong. The move highlights changes in the way global wide area network capacity is created and supplied.

The Pacific Light Cable Network (PLCN) will have 12,800 km of fiber and an estimated cable capacity of 120 Tbps, making it the highest-capacity trans-Pacific route, a record currently held by another Google-backed cable system, FASTER.

The project represents the sixth submarine cable in which Google has an ownership stake, joining the ranks of the Unity, SJC, FASTER, MONET and Tannat projects. The new network is expected to be operational in 2018.

Metro-area traffic likely surpassed long-haul traffic in 2015, and will grow nearly twice as fast as long-haul traffic from 2014 to 2019.

The higher growth in metro networks is due in part to the increasingly significant role of content delivery networks, which bypass long-haul links and deliver traffic to metro and regional backbones.

Content delivery networks will carry over half of Internet traffic by 2019. Globally, 62 percent of all Internet traffic will cross content delivery networks by 2019 globally, up from 39 percent in 2014.

Traffic from wireless and mobile devices will exceed traffic from wired devices by 2019. By 2019, wired devices will account for 33 percent of IP traffic, while Wi-Fi and mobile devices will account for 66 percent of IP traffic. In 2014, wired devices accounted for the majority of IP traffic at 54 percent.

Though there has been a mix of “carrier-purchased” and “enterprise private networking,” the current trend in the WAN market includes a higher mix of “owned” networking by big app providers such as Facebook and Google.

It Has Taken a Couple of Decades but Fixed Wireless is Coming Back in a Big Way

Windstream plans to expand its fixed wireless access operations in 40 U.S. markets, using 39-GHz millimeter wave spectrum, presumably for backhaul and business customer access.

Ironically, Windstream in 2008 wrote down the value of its 39 GHz spectrum holdings to zero, as part of a sale of mobile and wireless assets to AT&T Mobility.

The collapse of a millimeter-wave access services business is not terribly unusual. Whole companies (Windstar and Teligent, for example) went bankrupt after trying to build an enterprise access business using millimeter wave technology, after the passage of the Telecommunications Act of 1996.

But times change. Platforms become more capable. Costs go down. And with coming 5G mobile networks embracing millimeter wave technology, what was a broken business model two decades ago might well become an essential underpinning of next generation networks, both mobile and fixed.

Google Fiber, Facebook, AT&T and Verizon are a few of the leading firms now developing or planning to use fixed wireless in a significant way for Internet access.

Cambridge Broadband Networks (CBNL) is providing the radios and and Straight Path Communications is supplying the spectrum licenses for the Windstream rollout.

The new technology will allow Windstream customers data speeds of up to 275 Mbps full duplex, and it also supplements Windstreams other fixed wireless access technologies that range in speed from 1 Mbps to 1 Gbps.

Windstream will deploy in seven existing markets where it currently offers fixed wireless access technology - Chicago, New York City, Boston, Cleveland, Philadelphia, Milwaukee and Little Rock using equipment from CBNL and spectrum from Straight Path.

Windstream will also deploy CNBL equipment in 33 new markets where it will begin offering its fixed wireless technology. Those markets include Atlanta, Baltimore, Charlotte, Cincinnati, Dallas, Detroit, Kansas City, Miami, Minneapolis,Nashville, Oklahoma City, Phoenix, Richmond, San Antonio, Seattle and St. Louis.

Under the agreement, Windstream has the option of eventually expanding fixed wireless to an additional 32 markets where Straight Path owns 39 GHz spectrum.

Reliance Jio Gets 16 Million Mobile Accounts in a Month

Reliance Jio Infocomm has signed up 16 million customers (net new accounts) in its first month of full commercial operations since September 2016.

Reliance Jio has been offering free services for free to anyone signing up before the end of the year, including four gigabytes (4 GB) of free 4G data each day, as well as unlimited voice calls until December 31, 2016.

Customers will begin paying for data charges in 2017 but domestic voice calls will continue to be free.

Also, subscriber identification modules (SIMs) are being given away for free to customers of the 4G-only new service. So the issue for Jio is how many of its customers will stay with Jio once the free data period ends.

There already are more than one billion mobile subscribers in India, so Jio potentially has gotten something like 1.6 percent market share, assuming it attracted no “mobile for the first time” accounts, and only shifted demand from the other existing carriers.

They left Alexandria just as the masses arrived to escape the heat of Cairo. “We always seem to be going in the wrong direction,” Schuyler said, watching the traffic crawl, inch by inch, on the opposing freeway. It was the middle of July, and the sun was high in the sky. The air-conditioning in their rented sedan barely worked, and she had to place her palms right in front of the passenger-side vents just to cool down.
“Maybe it’s the opposite. maybe we’re actually going in the right direction this time.”
Jack smiled and put a little more gas on the pedal. In comparison to the hordes descending upon the beach city, the traffic leading into the capital was light, and for Egypt, they were practically cruising, if that was the correct way to describe the chaotic scene on the highway.
The Alexandria desert road was notorious for fearsome bus crashes and fatal accidents, and it was easy to see why: cars sped wildly, bobbing in and out of lanes at whim, while massive trucks looked as if they would pitch and roll every time they swerved to attain the slightest advantage. Once in a while someone would hit a random speed bump—either a huge unmarked crater or debris that had never been cleared—and traffic would screech to a halt without warning, causing a massive pileup. Schuyler was thankful Jack was a good driver; he seemed to know instinctively when to speed up or slow down, and they weaved through the careening vehicles without a scratch or near miss.
At least they weren’t driving at night, when cars didn’t even have their headlights on, since Egyptian drivers believed headlights burned through gas too quickly, and so made do without them. It was fine for vampires, of course, but Schuyler always worried for the poor humans who were barreling through in the dark—driving blind, like bats fluttering in a cave.
For seven months, she and Jack had lived in Alexandria, wandering through the picturesque cafés and airy museums.
The city had been designed to rival Rome and Athens at their height. Cleopatra had made it the seat of her throne, and while there were a few traces of the ancient outpost still visible—a scattering of sphinxes, statues, and obelisks—there was actually very little that remained of the ancient world in the bustling metropolis.
When they’d first arrived, Schuyler had been filled with hope, and heartened by Jack’s faith and presence, she was certain they would soon find what they sought. Florence had been a decoy, and Alexandria was the only other possibility regarding the true location of the Gate of Promise according to her grandfather’s files, which had documented Catherine of Siena’s travels from Rome to the Red Sea. Schuyler’s mother had trusted her with the family legacy: to find and protect the remaining Gates of Hell, which kept the world safe from the demons of the underworld.
They had checked in to the Cecil Hotel, a favorite of Somerset maugham’s and one that had been popular during the British Colonial era. Schuyler had been charmed by the 1930s-style caged elevator and its splendid marble lobby, which oozed old Hollywood grandeur. She could imagine mar-lene Dietrich arriving with a dozen trunks, a footman to carry her feather-trimmed hats alone.

Schuyler began her search at the Bibliotheca Alexandrina, an attempt to recreate the great library that had been lost over two thousand years ago (or so the Red Bloods thought, as the library still existed in the New York Coven’s Repository of History). Like the original institution, the grounds of the Bibliotheca sprawled to include acres of gardens, as well as a planet-arium and a conference center. A wealthy and secretive local matron had been instrumental in its foundation, and Schuyler had been certain she had found Catherine at last. But when they visited the grand patroness in her elegant salon overlooking the Eastern Harbor, it was obvious from the beginning that she was human, and no Enmortal, as she was sick and dying, lying in a bed, attached to a series of tubes.
As she and Jack had walked out of the elderly woman’s room, Schuyler felt the first flicker of anxiety that she was letting down not only her beloved grandfather and her enigmatic mother, but also the boy she so dearly loved. So far, finding the gatekeeper was turning out to be a difficult—if not impossible—task. Jack did not say anything that day, nor had he ever voiced any regret at his decision. Back in Florence, at the airport, he had escaped from the Venators and accepted her challenge, agreeing to her plan. She did not want to fail him.
She’d promised she would find a way out of the blood trial, a way for them to be together, and she would. The gatekeeper, Catherine of Siena, would help them, if only Schuyler could find her.
Their life in Egypt had settled into a comfortable routine.
Tired of hotel living, they’d rented a small house near the beach and concentrated on blending in as best they could. most of their neighbors left the young good-looking foreigners alone. Perhaps they sensed the vampire strength behind their friendly smiles.

In the mornings, Schuyler would comb the library, reading books on the Roman era, when Catherine was first tasked with the charge of keeper, and matching it to the files from Lawrence’s journal. Jack took on the footwork, using his Venator training to zero in on any clues as to her whereabouts, walking the city, talking to the locals. Enmortals were charis-matic and unforgettable beings—Lawrence Van Alen had been very popular during his exile in Venice, and Schuyler was betting that Catherine, or whatever she called herself these days, was the same: a magnetic personality whom no one could easily forget. In the late afternoons, Jack would stop by the library, and they would head to a café for lunch, sharing plates of mulukhiya stew over rice or spicy khoshary, and then return to their duties. They lived like locals, having dinner at mid-night, sipping fragrant anise tea until the wee hours of the morning.

Alex, as everyone calls the city, is a resort town, and as spring arrived and a breeze blew in from the mediterranean, buses and boatloads of tourists arrived to fill the hotels and beaches.
Their seven months together was sort of a honey-moon, Schuyler would realize later. A small slice of heaven, a brief and bright delay of the dark days that lay ahead. Their marriage was still young enough that they celebrated every month they were together, marking the time with little gestures, little gifts to each other: a small bracelet made of shells for her, a first edition of Hemingway for him. If Schuyler could keep Jack at her side, she believed she could keep him safe.
Her love for him was a shield that would keep him whole.

Black Panther Set To Film In Pinewood Studios For January 2017

With the film being announced back in October of 2014 and being in pre-production for some time now, Marvel Studios Black Panther will begin the filming process soon.

On Location Vacation reports that the film will start principal photography January 15th of next year and will mainly based in Pinewood Studios in Atlanta, Georgia.

Black Panther is written by Joe Robert Cole and Ryan Coogler with Coogler directing the film.

249 Billion Euros 277 Billion Needed to Deliver Fixed Network Gigabit in EU Study Suggests

As you would guess, a study of gigabit Internet access costs, conducted by Analysys Mason for the European Community, suggests targeted enterprise connections cost the least of the fixed access alternatives, while ubiquitous fixed network gigabit networks cost most.

Ubiquitous 50-Mbps mobile access costs less than any fixed method, though not providing the same amount of bandwidth. That assessment could change over time.

Analysys Mason expects that by 2025, it will be possible for 1-Gbps peak speed to be provided from the macro cell network, with average speed around 180 Mbps.

The study authors note that other alternatives, including fixed wireless, cable TV technology and satellite will be capable of delivering gigabit speeds by 2025.

Still, Analysys Mason was asked to model only the “enterprise” deployment, mass market gigabit access (functionally limited to fiber to home or node) and mobile connectivity.

Fixed wireless, satellite and hybrid fiber coax were not modeled. Some of us might argue that might be reasonable for many of the European Community nations, if not necessarily the model that will develop on other regions.

In an exit interview with Deadline, Greg Silverman, now ex-President of Creative Development and Worldwide Production at Warner Bros, talked about what is to come in regards to Warner Brothers, and one thing he confirmed is that Ben Afflecks The Batman will be released in 2018.

Here are his comments:
“Next year, Batman Lego looks like a monster, and King Kong looks like a global hit and we have Chris Nolan’s Dunkirk, and King Arthur, and Wonder Woman, which is such a joy for the studio and fans. Zack Snyder’s Justice League is a big film, and there are others like CHiPS, which feels like a real franchise for the studio. And Toby Emmerich’s films are also really humming.

“Then in 2018, there is a second Fantastic Beasts film, and Ready Player One feels like an ambitious movie by the world’s best filmmaker, Steven Spielberg, that will set the world on fire. There is Aquaman with James Wan, and Scooby Doo will be a huge launch and then there is Lego Ninjago. And then there is Ben Affleck’s Batman."

So it looks like The Batman will take that July 2018 slot on the DC Films calendar!

Today we talk about how to clone yourself multiple times in a picture ..
Like you sit around and with yourself, dine with yourself, sit on s sofa with yourself sitting and staring at you intact you can even hug yourself lol

Joke apart you can do all these with just a simple and mind blowing android application named Clone Yourself

Clone Yourself to me its not just an app its a powerful tool that I havent seen an android app that could perform like it..
It comes in two versions which is the pro and the free version

1. Open the app and take the first picture...

2. Take the second picture (note do not shake or .move the camera...for best results..)

3. Take the third or fourth if you wish...

4. Now paint out the second third and fourth picture...like this....

5. There u go... U will have something like this...
